If you're going to Canyon de Chelly, this is the closest place to stay.

The Thunderbird Lodge at Canyon de Chelly was clean and convenient for visiting the canyon. It is very dated. WiFi was decent. The gift shop has a mix of low quality touristy stuff and high quality genuine craft items. There was nothing special about the grounds or amenities. Guided tours exclusively operate from the hotel; the all day tour was ok, but the road hasn't been maintained in years, and you can't get close to any of the dwellings.

We sat at the bar. Drinks and salad was served on a timely manner, but had to ask 3 times for a water. The food was so so, might have been better if it came out hot, my shrimp was barely warm. Had to wait about an hour if not longer and we had to ask to check on it, she didn’t seem concerned about it and didn’t check on her own. Ordered dessert to go and again after at least 15 -20 minutes we had to ask about it and the she then she checked. How long does it take to box up carrot cake. Not very
