For the new garage we're building, the soil report was awful, so we had pre-construction piers installed. They put them down to solid rock before the footings were poured. Our builder said he's never seen a slab go down on such a solid base. Highly recommend this step, especially with the crazy weather swings we've been having.

We’re building on some real troublesome soil and all that wet weather in early May had me terrified the foundation wouldn’t hold. They put in pre‑construction piers before the pad was poured and the inspector said it was some of the best work he’d seen. Now framing’s done and I don’t see a single hairline crack. Highly recommend doing it right the first time.
