our generator failed during a storm last month and we lost power for almost a full day before we could get someone out. called SolidStep and they scheduled us in the next morning. turned out the transfer switch had gone bad, which is apparently common on older units. the tech swapped it out and ran the system through a few test cycles to make sure everything was working right. we had another bad storm about a week later and the generator kicked on within seconds like its supposed to. big relief
