Closed my pool last year and forgot to plug 3 pool return lines. Sure enough, after a few freezes, the pipe burst by the jandy valve, cracking 2 valves. I notified the owner, who said he'll come look but it couldn't possibly be his mistake. I ended up repairing thw valves because I was concerned of further damage as winter was not over and I figured he would do the right thing when he came back to open the pool.
