After doing permitting in the Bay Area for over 10 years I can say with assurance that the Palo Alto Building Department is the most difficult permit center in the area. Submittals go back and forth with every nuance being questioned. The process doesn't make sense and the permit tech's are rude and condescending if you have any questions. I wouldn't recommend permitting in this area. They're a nightmare to deal with.

Seems like the manager needs an attitude adjustment and some training on how to treat the public. Along with his assistant lady. Wish I could remember the amazing employee that actually helped the photographer that visited the public building. Hope the next visit they get is a better experience.
