I've been here maybe three or four times since moving to Evanston about a year ago. There's a charming quaintness to Lemoi Ace Hardware that is further supplemented by the distinct, signature, universally recognizable hardware store scent - an inexplicably satisfying mix of chemicals, tools, wood, etc. The scent alone brings back nostalgic memories of strolling through big (and small) hardware stores with my dad when I was a wee lad.
