been wanting to get our basement floor redone for a while now. the concrete down there was just bare and cold and kind of dusty all the time. looked up a bunch of epoxy companies around Glenview on google and Epoxium kept coming up with good reviews so i reached out. got a quote pretty fast, price seemed reasonable compared to the other ones i got. set up a date and they came out on time. they ground down the floor first then put the epoxy on in layers. took a couple days total with drying in be
our garage floor had these deep oil stains that no amount of degreaser would touch. tried everything over the years and they just kept getting worse. epoxium came out and said the best move was to grind it all down and do a full epoxy coat over it. once they finished the grinding you couldnt even see where the stains were and then the epoxy went on top of that. now the whole floor is one uniform color and nothing soaks in anymore. spills just sit on top and wipe right up. should have done this a
Our basement concrete had been cracking and flaking for a while, getting noticeably worse after each winter. Stuff was literally chipping off when you'd move furniture around. Epoxium came out, looked at it, and suggested grinding the whole thing down and putting an epoxy coat over it. Took them about two days I think. The floor now is just smooth and solid,no more gritty dust every time I sweep down there. That alone made it worth doing.
had a moisture issue in our lower level that was causing the concrete to deteriorate pretty bad. like chunks coming up and constant dampness on the surface. got a few opinions and epoxium said they could grind it down and apply a moisture barrier before doing the epoxy. most other places just wanted to coat over it which didnt seem right to me. they spent a full day just on prep which was more than i expected but they said it mattered for longevity especially with the moisture problem. the floor
So the polished concrete in our basement is something I keep catching myself staring at which sounds weird but it has this low sheen to it that makes the whole room feel brighter without being glossy if that makes sense. They ground it down through I think four passes and each one changed the look a little. The final result almost looks like stone countertop but on the floor. My brother in law came over last weekend and kept asking if we had tile installed down there. I had to get down and knock
Spent a while comparing quotes and these were the ones who actually came back with a breakdown that made sense to me. The polished concrete came out really clean, like noticeably reflective.
Called Epoxium for a quote and they came out same week. Really easy to work with, explained the whole process and didn't pressure me. Installation went smooth and they kept me updated throughout. Floor looks awesome and was dry in two days like they said.
had epoxium do my garage floor last week. they showed up on time, grinded everything down, and laid the epoxy in one day. looks really good, no bubbles or thin spots like i've seen with other guys. they also added the flakes which give it a nice texture. cleaned up all the dust too which i appreciated. price was reasonable. would hire them again for sure.
