I had a really great experience working with Blue Collar Scholars Landscaping and Construction on a project for my yard and outdoor space. The team was hardworking, professional, and easy to communicate with from start to finish. They listened carefully to the ideas I had and also gave helpful suggestions that improved the overall look of the project. What stood out most was the attention to detail and the pride they seemed to take in their work. The crew stayed organized, cleaned up after thems
Their design build signs are ALL OVER our Wyngate Neighborhood.
My father called them and received an estimate for a screened in porch and three months later blue collar scholars had permit in hand.
Jordan, the gentleman in charge, was extremely easy to work with. He gave us options, showed us what the neighbors were doing and made a couple of suggestions. No hard selling whatsoever.
Sam, the architect, knew all of the codes and building line restrictions and made it super simple to pull the
Built a beautiful flagstone patio with lighting in our back yard.
I took pictures of each of the steps, ran it by brother who is a contractor in new york and apparently they did everything “perfectly”.
Price was great, was actually less expensive than the competitors.
Worked with BCS to dig out some yard and tamp it down. After working with their operations team, they were able to fit me in quickly and execute on the project to completion in one day. Excellent service especially from David A, who personally reached out to me multiple times to confirm I was satisfied.
Highly recommend working with them. Just make sure your account for timelines.
They cleared our backyard from all of the trees. We didn’t want and created a new slope to allow us to enjoy a flat backyard.
Blue collar scholars had to build an engineered gravity wall to be able to support the slope and handled the whole permitting process.
We now have an Astroturf area, a brand new perennial garden, privacy trees to block us from both neighbors on the side and a brand new stone patio to entertain.
Pricing was good and there was one mistake during the grading however, they
We contracted Blue Collar Scholars for a new backsplash and to relocate a hard-wired security camera. Rafael and his team did a great job! The backsplash looks wonderful, the camera is mounted and working well, and they were very respectful of our house throughout the project. They cleaned up all materials and made sure that there was no residue left behind, including sweeping our driveway which was much appreciated. The crew was very effective and efficient. We'd be happy to work with them agai
The audacity that people have to post negative reviews about this company after they ACTUALLY SHOWED UP to remove the 1 foot of ice and snow that the DMV area got obliterated with is ridiculous!!!!!
We first use this company by hiring them for the snowstorm and my aunt was able to make her medical appointment while my neighbors were snowed in for over a week!!!
This wasn’t even what I was leaving the review for 😭 as we hired them later to replace our fence in our petworth property in DC.
But
STAY AWAY!
Be warned: Blue Collar Scholars employs predatory contracting and pricing practices. I used them for snow removal for a small 50 sq ft patio and sidewalk. The job was done well, but i was charged nearly $1000 for the job, with BCS citing it took approximately 10 man hours to complete (3 man crew). Having done much shoveling the recent winter myself, I was empathetic to a higher cost, but their invoice for such a small area was completely unrealistic and downright predatory. I did bot
