These early signs of liner wear were found during the check. They put in a new stainless steel piece, carefully sealed the connections, cleaned the system, and checked for leaks. Once more, the pick is strong and steady. We're feeling a lot safer.
Years of wind had moved the top of the chimney. They installed reinforcement ties, repointed the problematic section, cleaned the interior and fixed the cap appropriately. Things feel solid again and we don't hear these changing sounds anymore.
